ACLS is a comprehensive course that builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills. ACLS is focused on identifying someone who is in cardiopulmonary arrest or experiencing other cardiovascular emergencies. It is designed for healthcare providers who may be involved with and participate in the management of patients in these types of situations.

This course includes:

  • Systems of care & review of BLS
  • Systematic approach
  • Management of ACS and strokes
  • Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
  • Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions
  • Cardiac Algorithms
  • Cardiac Arrest: Special Situations
  • High-Performance Team Roles & Dynamics

Participants who have never taken ACLS should take the initial class. During the initial class AHA videos will be shown & after each section the instructor will encourage the participants to have open discussions so they can further their knowledge. They will also have the opportunity for more simulation to learn and practice their cognitive and psychomotor skills. The initial course is more comprehensive, providing a more in-depth exploration of material, techniques and practices, making the approach and duration longer than the renewal classes.
